Good Eatin' On The Cheap!
Healthy Eatin'...On The cheap!
I recently saw an amazing movie called The Garden. It basically chronicals the life of South Central Los Angeles Farmers, who, from the ashes of the the LA riots; take a shabby uninhabited piece of land and cultivate what would later become a lush 14-acre community garden- the largest of it's kind in the United States.
After seeing the moving and experiencing the trials and tribulations of these farmer's and their plight with the city trying to bulldoze them out, I was motivated to find out more. I am a huge fan of buying locally and organic whenever possible. And my encounter with the South Central Farmer's Cooperative made me realize exactly why.

I took a look at their website and realized that they have CSA (community supported agriculture) boxes available for $15. You can simply order it online and pick it up at your local participating farmer's market.csabox.gif
It turned out that there were several markets near me where I could pick it up but I chose to go to Atwater Village Farmer's market in the beautifully ecclectic Silverlake area of Los Angeles.

What a pleasant surprise!  Organic everything! Collards, beets, swiss chard, tomoatoes, okra, eggplant, yellow squash, spaghettis squash, zucchini squash, basil, mint, and so much more...a ton of produce for only $15 bucks. It lasted me for 2 weeks and also made for some great juicing.

The website for the SCFC is www. southcentralfarmers.com

However, for some additional resources on cheapskate ways to eat healthy, I have included this link for local markets in the greater LA area. Check them out. I also was informed by client Sandra that Paridise O has really great delivery of organic produce as well. If you guys know of any others, please let me know and I will create a directory to put on the website.

Until then. Be well and holistically in tune!

Uh... did you say colonics?
Established in 2007
I set out to establish a practice that would stand out above & beyond typical industry standards. It is my objective to provide clients with a relaxing state of the art cleansing experience.

Colonics? Not an easy subject. Yet, clients find the ease & gentle nature of our gravity-centered device to be the best colonic that some have ever received. Those who are new to colonics find it to be a very inviting experience as well. Many are relieved to see that there are no fire hoses or elaborate contraptions! Even the guys find it to be extremely male-friendly.

The benefit of  a candle lit atmosphere, gentle massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, & holistic lifestyle coaching, provides an excellent backdrop for a nurturing experience.

Colon hydrotherapy centers come a dime a dozen in this town. Clearly,  you can choose anyone for your needs,  However, it's an honor when a client picks up that phone to call us despite possible fears & so many choices.

At Holistic Life, LLC,  we offer services in the following areas:

  • Colon Hydrotherapy
  • Raw Food Transitioning
  • 1-on-1 Holistic Health Consulting
  • Web-based Holistic Health tele-consulting

Please feel free to comb through the site and learn how we can be of service to you!
